WHEN IT ALL STARTED

Extreme Power Softball was started in the fall of 2008, by Bob Czuchran ,Bob Figura ,Larry Deluca ,Rob Gallentine and Mike Deleonardis. Our daughters played in the Ben Taylor East Ohio Girls Softball League. The dads and girls met for the first time on the practice field on a hot  July evening in 2008 at the North Market field in St Clairsville. The girls kinda knew each other from playing in the Ben Taylor League, and soon developed into a family .After that first practice ,we had a discussion about our team name. Several names were tossed around, but we kept coming back to "Power" . We needed more than just Power, so we tried  Ohio Power ,Ohio Valley Power , then from  someone in the back came  " Extreme Power" .That was all she wrote . Now, we had to come up with some colors .  We had girls from Buckeye Local, St Clairsville ,Union Local, Martins Ferry and Shadyside. We didn't want  colors from these schools. I suggested texas orange, but that was shot down in a hurry. Then someone said we needed to use a color that no school in the valley used .something different and then I suggested Vegas Gold. Some of the girls didn't know what that color was, but once I said its like shinny gold ,they we in . Vegas gold ,Black and White and the name    Extreme Power was born.   We played our first game at I 470 fields on August 17  against the Wheeling Sliders. We won 8-0, and finished the season at  13-1-1. We lost to Taylorstown in the Fall Ball Championship game . We played in the Spring League at I 470 in 2009 . In the summer of 2009 we entered our first travel ball tournament.

Somewhere behind the  athlete,

behind the hours of practice,

behind the coaches who have pushed

you is a little girl that fell in love with the game and never looked back !
